The Smart Vendor and The Cute Little Boy

Once upon a time there was a smart vendor lived in a small village. He used to act smart with people while he was dealing with more peoples. He was sailing black berries in the nearest village and market everyday. Once, a cute little boy bought some berries from the vendor. The vendor gave him berries less in weight.

The little boy asked “Why are you giving me less that what I really owes it?” The vendor replied “lesser the berries, it will easier for you to carry. Now, give me the money”. 

The boy gave some coins into the vendor’s hand and went away. The vendor counted and found the money to be less than what he actually told to the boy. 

The vendor shouted “Hey, hey, you’ve given me less money”. The boy replied from a distance “Lesser the money, easier to count, isn’t It!”.

Moral: Smart people are outsmarted.

Donkey and the Dog Story

Once upon a time there lived a dog and a donkey in a house of a washer man. The dog guarded his house and the donkey carried his clothes to the market. 

It was a hot afternoon. The dog was sleeping under the shady tree. There was some noise outside. The dog just lifted up his head and went back to sleep.

The donkey asked to the dog, “Why don’t you bark. It could be thieves”. The dog replied, “Mind your own business”. But the donkey would not listen. He wanted to save his master from thieves. He started to bray.

The master who was sound asleep got wild with the donkey and came running out with a stick and gave hard beatings to the donkey.

MORAL: IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS.

The talking cave

Once upon a time there lived an old lion in a dense forest. He had not taken any food from several days. He was extremely hungry. He was roaming around the jungle. All of a sudden, he saw a cave and thought to himself, “Wow! This cave looks habitable. I will hide in the cave and when the occupant would come in, I will grab him up.” Saying this, he went inside the cave and hid himself.

Some times latter a jackal, who was the inhabitant of the cave, came by. As he was about to enter, he saw footprints of a lion entering in the cave. But there were no footprints coming out of it. He quickly understood the situation and shouted, “Hello cave! I’m back. Won’t talk to me?" On receiving no response, she shouted once more, “Dear cave, Are you upset with me? If you don’t speak up, I won’t come inside.”

Listening to all this the lion thought that this cave must be a talking one and wasn’t replying due to the fear of the lion. So, the lion himself shouted, “Oh my dear. Come in. I have been waiting for you.”

The jackal was quick to realize the lion’s plan. He was pleased with himself and shouted, “Oh! You must be so stupid to think that a cave would talk.” Saying this, the jackal quickly ran away and the lion sat there regretting his stupidity.

Moral: Never lose your presence of mind. It is the best weapon against every problem in life.

Once upon a time there was a fox lived in a deep forest. A hare was also lived in that forest. Once the hare starting at a fox in admiration. The fox asked, “What are you starting at?” The hare said in an anxious voice, “I was wondering about you”. The fox asked, “Why do you wonder about me?” The hare said “Are you really as cunning as people says?”

The fox looked at the hare with a thoughtful look and replied after some silent moments, “Well! Why don’t you do one thing? Come to my house at night and join me with at dinner. We shall discuss the matter”.

The hare went to the fox’s cave at night. On the dinning table were laid plates and bowls. But there was no food at all. The hare thought, “Oho! What a fool I am! The fox has planned to eat me,” and he ran away for his life.

Hare and His Ear Story

Once upon a time there was a Lion had been badly hurt by the horns of a Goat, while he was eating. He was very angry to think that any animal that he chose for a meal, should be so brazen as to wear a such dangerous things as horns to scratch him while he ate. So he commanded that all animals with horns should leave his kingdom as soon as possible. he don't want to see them at all. 

The command struck terror among all the animals. All those who were so unfortunate as to have horns, started to move out of that jungle. Even the Hare, who has no horns and so had nothing to fear. He passed a very restless night, thinking about the fearful Lion.

He came out of the warren in the early morning sunshine, and there saw the shadow cast by his long and pointed ears. He was frightened to see this. Good bye my dear friend cricket. I am going off. The cricket said that why are you leaving? You don't have horns you should stay here. He certainly point out that my ears are horns, no matter what I am. In the mean time lion came with a roar and killed the hare.

Moral: Do not give your enemies the slightest reason to attack your reputation. Your enemies will seize any excuse to attack you.

Midas the Greedy King and His Daughter

Once upon a time there was a king lived in his Kingdom. King Midas was a very greedy king. Even though he was very rich he always craved for more and more gold.

One day, he called his court magician and commanded, Find me a spell that can get me more treasures than I already have.” The magician said, “Your majesty, I can give you a power that no one else in this world has. 

Anything that you touch will turn into gold’- The king was delighted with his good fortune. Everything he touched turned into gold. He turned trees, grass, tables, chairs, flowers, and vases into gold. He thought that he must be the richest man in the world.

But in the evening, when he sat down for supper, King Midas was dismayed. His food turned into gold the moment he touched it and he had to go to bed without any food! However, King Midas was too greedy to be sad about it. 

The next morning, the king’s daughter ran to hug her father. But alas! The minute she kissed him, she turned into a gold statue! King Midas, who loved his daughter very much. was very sad and he ran to the magician for help. 

He cried, “Please help me, O' Magician! I don’t want to be rich anymore. I only want my beloved daughter back.” The magician changed everything back to normal.

King Midas had learnt his lesson and was never greedy again.

Moral: Greedy is always crush.

There lived a Crocodile in a pond that was surrounded by black berry trees. There lived a monkey too in these trees. The Monkey and the Crocodile became friends with each other. The Crocodile would visit the Monkey everyday and enjoying the sweet berries. One day, the Crocodile took the berry to his wife.

The monkey happily accepted and asked “How I would come with you in the lake? I don’t know how to swim?.” The crocodile offered him a ride on his back. After reaching few distance, the Crocodile explained the Monkey that I will kill you and to have your heart.

The monkey quickly got a clever idea. He told the crocodile, “Oh my friend! I left my heart on the tree. Let us go back and bring it for you.” The foolish crocodile believed the monkey and brought him back to the tree. At once, the monkey climbed on to the tree and laughed. You fool heart is situated inside the body.

Morals: The person who wants to cheat others will be cheated and loose everything.

A long time ago there was a goat grazing near her master's cottage. All of a sudden, she saw green grass growing on the roof of the cottage.

The Wicked Wolf and The Lamb

Once upon a time there lived a wolf with other animals. One day a young lamb was playing and jumping in the green meadow. As it was playing, it felt very thirsty. The little lamb went to a stream to drink water.

At the same time a wolf arrived to the stream to quench its thirst. When the wolf saw the lamb its mouth watered and it thought to kill the lamb with his cunning nature. So the wolf went near the lamb. The wolf pretended  to be angry and said, “Why are you making the water dirty that I am drinking?” “Oh it can’t be true, the water is flowing down from your side towards me. I think you did the muddy there” said the lamb. “How dare you to argue with me. You are as rude as when I met you a years ago.” Saying this the wolf was nearing the lamb.

Without knowing the wickedness of the wolf the lamb continued its argument, “I am just three months old. How could I met you a year before.” The wolf said, “Then it must have been your father. I’ll eat you to punish him.” Saying these words the wolf leap on the young lamb and finished its life.

Moral: Stay away from the wicked people and don't argue with them.
