The King and The Kind Deer: Short Moral Story

One day, big and beautiful deer was wandering in the jungle. He was looking for food. He wanted to eat something different from what he ate every day. While wandering, he came to the outskirt of the jungle. There he saw a fruit laden tree. He had never tasted such fruits before. So he cautiously ate one. The fruit was very sweet and luscious. The deer started coming to that fruit tree every day. He gave up eating all other plants that grew in the jungle. He would eat only the fruits of that particular tree.

A hunter lived in the nearby village. He used to go to the forest everyday and passed by that tree. One day, as he saw the foot marks of the deer. He was glad to see the foot marks and stood watching them. After sometime, he saw the deer enjoying the tasty fruits of the tree. The hunter made up his mind to catch the deer. “He is so big and beautiful. He will fetch me a lot of money”. He thought.

The hunter came back to the tree next morning and hid himself among the branches of a nearby tree. He intended to kill the deer with his bow and arrow. After about an hour, the deer arrived. He was a very clever and cautious deer. He saw human footprints on the wet soil. Therefore, he did not go near the fruit tree. Instead, he stood watching for any sign of the human being. He spoke to the fruit tree, “My dear talking tree, why didn’t you welcome me today? Why are you not dropping your fruits for me today? Are you angry with me? Have I offended you by my misconduct?”

Hearing the deer speak, the hunter plucked some fruits from the fruit tree and threw them towards the deer. The deer was now sure that a hunter was lying in wait for him. He said to the tree, “It appears that you are not in a mood to talk with me today.

Therefore, you have thrown the fruits without welcoming me. I cannot accept the fruits without welcoming me. I cannot accept the fruits, as you are annoyed. I will come back only when you are in a pleasant mood”. So saying, he hides himself behind the tall bush that grew nearby.

The hunter was quite disappointed. He aimed an arrow at the deer. However, the arrow missed him. The deer ran swiftly and disappeared into the thick forest. He had outwitted the hunter.

The Slave and the Lion Story : Short Morals for Children

A rich man had a slave. The man was very cruel to him every time. So the slave became sick of his cruel treatment. He decided to run away from his master. He got a chance and ran away to nearest forest. There was a cave and he hides himself in a cave. As he lay there and thinking his master. At that time he heard the groaning of the lion.

He was frightened. As the lion came near to the cave, he saw that he was limping. The lion approached the slave and held out his paw. The slave saw that his paw was swollen and a thorn was stuck in it. The slave drew out the thorn very gently. The lion was relieved of pain and went away. Afterwards they became friends.

Many days passed away. By chance the slave was arrested by his master's men. He was brought to his master who ordered his men to put him before a hungry lion. The day for punishment was fixed.

The people of the town were invited to see the wonderful fight between the lion and the slave. The lion was freed from the cage to pounce upon the slave when he recognized him. He now advanced slowly towards him and began to lick his hands out of love. It was the same lion, his friend. The slave too, patted him.

It was a wonderful sight for the people. The lion was given to him as a reward. The slave was set free.

Moral: Kindness is always rewarded.

The Lion and the Mouse : Short Moral Stories

It was a hot summer day. Sun was shining bright up in the sky. A lion was sitting under the shade of a big tree and in some time got asleep. Nearby that tree, there was a hole, in which there lived a mouse. When the lion was sleeping, the mouse came out of its hole and saw him asleep.

Unaware of the lion's strength, it got tickled by an idea. It thought of waking up the lion by running over his body just for fun.

Unfortunately, the lion seized it in his strong paw. The mouse pleaded for its life. Being generous by nature, the lion set it free. The mouse promised to help the lion if it ever got the chance. The lion laughed aloud at this. After all, how could a tiny mouse help the king of the jungle?

A few days later, the mouse was passing through the jungle when he saw the same lion trapped in a hunter's net. Immediately, it set to work, gnawing at the ropes. Very soon the tiny mouse had ser the lion free.

Moral: Remember, mercy never goes unrewarded.

The Monkeys and the Fire Fly: Short Moral Story

Once upon a time there lived a group of monkeys in a deep forest. It was winter season. One night it was a cold and silent night. The weather was cold. Monkeys were sitting on a big tree. They were holding its branches tightly with their hand. One of the monkeys said, “If we could find some fire then it will help us to keep warm”. They were searching of fire. 

All of a sudden they found a group of fireflies came out of a small hole. One of the young monkeys thought it was fire. He told all their friends lets catch the fire. Saying this he caught a firefly. He put it under a dry leafs, sticks and started blowing at it. Other monkeys also joined with him and started blowing with their mouth.

A sparrow was flying to its nest where the monkeys were sitting on the same tree. She noticed what they were doing. The sparrow laughed and said, “You all are stupid. That is a firefly, not the real fire. If you catch the fire it will burn your hand. I think all of you should take shelter in a cave because you feel cold and inside the cave you may feel warm”. The monkeys did not listen to the sparrow. They continued to blow at the firefly.

After some time the monkeys became very tired. Now they realized what the sparrow had said was correct.

They set free the firefly and thanks to the sparrow. After they all were moved to a nearby cave.

The Fox and The Goat: Short Story

A fox was walking near a well. Somehow by incident he slipped in. It was not a very deep well. He tried his best to get out but could not.

At that time a thirsty goat passed by the well and saw the fox was there. She asked the fox what he was doing there. The cunning fox replied that he had himself jumped into the well.
