There was a grocery shop in a village. Plenty of mice lived in that grocery shop. Food was in plenty for them. They ate everything and spoiled all the bags that purchased by the owner. They also wasted the bread, biscuits and fruits of that shop.

The grocery owner got really worried. So, he thought "I should buy a cat and let it stay at the grocery shop. Only then I can save my things."He bought a nice, big fat cat and let him stay there. The cat had a nice time hunting the mice and killing them. The mice could not move freely now. They were afraid that anytime the cat would eat them up.The mice wanted to do something. 

They held a meeting and all of them said, "We must get rid of the fat cat. Can someone give a suggestion"? All the mice sat and thought of a solution. A small mouse just stood up and said, The cat moves oftly. If we can tie a bell around her neck, then things will be fine.We can know the movements of the cat".“Yes, that is answer,” stated all the mice. An old mouse slowly stood up and asked, "Who would tie the bell?" After some time there was no one to answer the question. They all left from that place because cat just pounce one of them.

MORAL : Empty solutions are of no worth.

The Dreaming Astronomer-Positive moral stories

Once upon a time there lived an astronomer who was very much involved in his observations. He often used to look up at the sky at night and start observing the stars, moon and other objects on the sky. One night he went to the top of his floor and started observation the moon and stars. He was walking towards the edge of his floor and he didn't noticed it. His leg slipped and he fell into a ditch. He started shouting. Nobody was there to help him at that time. 

At last a passerby, who heard his shouts, helped him out of the ditch and asked, “How did you fall into this ditch?” The astronomer replied, “I was so engrossed in my observations that I did not notice the edge and fell down." The passerby asked “How do you expect to discover things when you fail to take note of things under your nose?” The astronomer walked away with a sad face.

Moral: Realities are more important than dreams.

The Selfish Bat and The Beast

Once upon a time there was a fighting between the birds and animals. All birds fought with their might against the animals and the animals gave fierce battle. The bats were indecisive. They thought “We can join with the birds because we can fly. We can also join with the animals because we don’t lay eggs. Anyway, we will wait and join with the winners”.

At one stage the birds were having a winning hand. The bats thought, “This is the time, we’ll join with the birds”. But lo! The times changed. The hands o hands of the animals began to be more powerful. The bats shifted support to animals.

After  a long time the battle ended and the birds and animals came to compromise. But, both now neglected the bats. Bats began to live in holes. They came out only during dusk because that was the time when birds and animals would have returned home and the night animals and birds would not have left their homes.

 Moral: A fair weather friend is often ill accepted.

Once upon a time there was a old man was walking towards the market for buying vegetables for his home. The market was situated 2 kilometre distance from his home. He had a bag with his hand. He was walking slowly due to his old age. Suddenly he saw wallet on the road. The wallet contained some money and a picture with an address on a paper. But he was not interested to hide the money. He just kept with his bag. On the way the owner of the wallet asked the old man, dear grandpa did you found a black wallet on this way? It has some money and my id card.

The old man said yes my dear son, I found the wallet and you just take this. I just got it from this road. I have not touched your money. Thank you. The owner of that wallet found his wallet without losing a single penny. He offered some money to the old man. But old man said my dear son you just keep that money with you and it will help for your study. The owner was happy at getting back the money and astonished at the man’s honesty. The old man said it was my duty for you my son.

Moral : Honesty is the best policy

A story about the dog and the Cows

Once upon a time there was a manger in a small village. There lived a poor woman in the village. She had a beautiful cow.  She used to eat hay from that manger. One day a herd of cows came to the manger to eat hay. They saw a dog lying on the hay of that manger.

One of the cows pleaded to dog, “Please, will you get up! We are hungry. We have to eat our food”. The dog did not take heed of it. Once again another cow pleaded, “Please, let us have our hay”. The dog snarled and the cow stepped back.

A wise cow ran up to the bull and told him the matter. The bull came and requested, “Get out, please! Let them have their food”. There was no reply. The bull became angry. He blowed loudly and stamped his legs. The dog got frightened and ran for his life.

Moral of the Story : It is not good to be a dog in a manger.

The Wisdom Cap Seller and The Monkeys

There was a cap seller lived is a small village. He creating the beautiful caps and sale it in the market. He also carried boxful of caps and moved from village to village for selling the caps. Once, after selling some caps in a village, the cap seller was crossing a patch of a jungle. He felt too tired to walk towards to his village. So, he kept his cap box and lied down under a shady tree.

In that tree there were some monkeys. They found the cap box and saw the seller wearing a cap. They came down and started picked one cap each. They started playing with the caps. After some time, the cap seller heard the clattering noise and woke up to see the empty box. He looked up and saw the caps on the monkeys.

He tried many tricks to get back the caps, but in vain. At last in utter disgust he threw down his cap. What a surprise! The next moment all the caps were flying down.

The cap seller picked up the caps and walked away happily.

Moral : Unexpected actions too can pay you.

Two Little Frogs

Once upon a time there lived two frogs in a village with their family and friends. Once they thought to go and see the big city that was about ten miles away from the village. They talked about it for a long time, and at last they decided to see the city.

It was a hot summer day, and they soon began to feel tired. They had only gone a little way when one said to the other, “We must be nearly there. Can you see the city?” “No,” said the other frog; “but if I climb on your back I might be able to see it.” So he climbed up on the back of the other frog to see the city.

Now when the frog put up his head, his eyes could only see what was behind, and not what was in front. So he saw the village they had just left. “Can you see the city?”, asked the frog who was below. “Yes,” answered the frog who had climbed up. ” I can see it. It looks just like our village.”

Then the frogs thought that it was not worthwhile going any further. They went back and told the other frogs round the village that they had seen the city, and it was just like theirs.

Moral: Do nothing without a regard to the consequences.

The Frog and The Ox Story with Moral

Once upon a time in a hot summer day, a big Ox came down a pond to drink some water. He was thirsty and when he was about to enter the pond he crushed a young little frog into the mud. The younger one died.

All the small frogs rushed to the big old frog to tell him that their younger brother died by a big animal. On knowing this, the big frog said ”Big, was he!” and started blowing himself up. He asked the young frogs, ”Was he as big as this”, to which they replied “Much bigger”.

He puffed himself more and more and kept asking the little frogs the same question. When they declared that the Ox was much bigger, he blew and blew and swelled and swelled. Until finally, he burst.

Moral: Self-conceit leads to self-destruction.
