King and Foolish monkey

Long, long ago, there lived a king in a beautiful palace. He was very fond of monkeys. He had one favorite monkey as a friend. The king thought that the monkey was very clever so he kept the him as a bodyguard.

One day the king went to the visit his kingdom. When he came back from visiting, he was very tired and sleepy. So, that day he went to sleep early. He told his monkey, “Keep a watch around so that no one disturbs me while I sleep!” The monkey said, “Okay!” and sat beside the king and guarded him with a sword in his hand. 

After a while, the monkey heard a buzzing around the room. One fly sat on the face of the sleeping king. The monkey tried very hard to shew away the fly but it kept on buzzing over the king’s face. It flew and sat on his nose again and again.

Irritated and angry monkey said, “I am going to kill you!” So, when the fly sat on the king’s nose once again, he hit it with a sword. The fly flew away but the sword fell on the king’s nose and his nose was cut off. So, the poor king laid there on his bed without a nose.

Moral: A wise enemy is better than a foolish friend.

The Brahmin's Gift and The Goat

Once upon a time there lived a Brahmin in a small village. There was a jungle situated end of the village. Once the Brahmin was gifted a goat by his follower. As he started on his journey to home, three conman hatched a plan to take away the goat from him because the goat was very nice.

One of the conman approached him and said, “Why are you carrying a dog over your shoulder?” The Brahmin became angry and said “are you blind? This is a goat, not a dog”. Saying this, he continued his journey inside the jungle.

The second conman asked the Brahmin, “You seem to be a wise person. Why are you carrying a dead calf?” The Brahmin was furious and yelled at him, “How stupid can you be to think of a goat as a dead calf!” He was a bit confused but started walking further.

The third conman walked towards the Brahmin and said, “If I am not wrong then you are a priest. But why do you carry a donkey on your shoulder?” The Brahmin was completely bewildered. He thought that the goat was some kind of ghost who changed forms.

He got scared to such an extent that he threw the goat in the jungle and ran away. The three con men laughed at the Brahmin and took the goat for feast. Their plan had succeed!

Moral: Do not get carried away by what others say. Always believe in yourself and your instincts.

Honesty is the Best Policy (Best Moral Story for Children)

Once upon a time there lived a renounced king who had grown very old. The king had three sons, now he was worried that which of his sons should be his successor. It was very difficult for him to choose the next king among his three sons because he loved all of them.

One day the old minister advised to call his sons and said to them,"I am giving each of you one seed, that you will plant in a pot, after someday I will see that whose plant is the best, the one who will have the most beautiful plant will be the next king". He gave each of them a seed. All his sons went back and planted the seed in their respective pot.

          

After few months, two brothers had beautiful plants in their pots with lovely flowers and green leaves, except the youngest one, his pot was plant less although he cared for his seed and pot very well but no plant grew in his pot. When he saw his brothers' plants he became very sad and worried that what would he show to his father. One day the king called all his sons to show him their plants.  "Look father how beautiful our plants are". Said the sons who had plants in their pots.

          

King asked the youngest son, "Where is your plant my dear son? Why is your pot is empty?" Youngest son replied, "My dear father, I am really sorry, I tried my best but no plant grew in my pot". "No! you should not be sorry" said the king,"because the seeds I gave to you and your brothers were dead and useless, no plant could be grown with the help of those seeds.Your brothers lied to me because they wanted to impress me. When they saw that their plants were not growing, they planted other seeds in their pots. The plants they have now that were grew from other seeds. But you were honest and told me the truth, and one of the most important qualities of a king is that he should be honest. So my dear son, you will be the next king".

Moral: Honesty is the best policy.

The Curious Monkey

Once there lived a carpenter in a village. One day morning the carpenter was working hard to divide a log into two parts. He was sawing from morning to noon, but was able to cut only half way through. He was feeling hungry. So he pushed a wedge into the split and went for lunch.

There was a monkey watching the carpenter. He became curious of the wedge. He climbed down from the tree and went up to the log. He tried to pull the wedge of the log. It didn't came out. He sat on the log with legs on each side. The tail was dangling down through the split. He tried again and again. All of a sudden, the wedge came out. The log stuck together with a snap cutting off the dancing tail with it.

The monkey lost its tail because of his curiosity. When the carpenter came he feels sad to see the monkey without tail.

The Smart Vendor and The Cute Little Boy

Once upon a time there was a smart vendor lived in a small village. He used to act smart with people while he was dealing with more peoples. He was sailing black berries in the nearest village and market everyday. Once, a cute little boy bought some berries from the vendor. The vendor gave him berries less in weight.

Donkey and the Dog Story

Once upon a time there lived a dog and a donkey in a house of a washer man. The dog guarded his house and the donkey carried his clothes to the market.
